ELSECAR schoolchildren are among those boosting their reading - and becoming news experts - with a little help from the Barnsley Chronicle.
The Chronicle has teamed up with a company called the News Foundation to offer the Reading Passport project to Barnsley primary schools.
The Reading Passport is a pocket-sized booklet containing 15 fun and educational activities. Every participating student completes the activities and develops a wide range of skills as they explore the people, places and events that shape the world of current events.
