COMMUNITY-SPIRITED residents from Dodworth have set up a group to help improve and preserve the village.
The Dodworth Village Community Group was founded last month and includes people of all ages and backgrounds who have different skills.
Member Lisa Kenny said: "Some have lived in the village for many years, while others are relative newcomers. However, there is one thing they all have in common, a desire to improve and preserve those things that make the village of Dodworth and district a special place."
The group has already taken part in several litter picks and is currently cleaning out some raised beds to rid them of rubbish and weeds and to plant them up.
The group's first litter pick on Higham Common Lane resulted in 21 bags of rubbish being collected in two hours along with things such as tyres and building materials.
