IT HAS taken 35 years for Sarah McDermott to fulfil her childhood dream - but she has finally had a children's book published and hopes it is the start of series and a successful writing career.
The Millhouse Green mother wrote A Sweet Secret about her daughters Emma, nine, and Sophie, six, and this week visited St John's primary school in Penistone where they are taught to speak to classmates and read passages from the book.
Sarah will be appearing at the Yummy Yorkshire ice cream parlour at Ingbirchworth from 10.30am on May 28 for a storytelling/book signing session and the following day at Waterstones in Meadowhall from 2pm to 4pm for a book signing.
She will also be at Penistone Artisan Fayre, at the market on June 7 from 10am to 3pm for book signing.
