A YOUNG mum and her twin babies were woken by a car crashing through their Barugh Green home on Wednesday night.

It took out the bay window of Laura Gow’s Dearne Hall Road house, spraying glass all over the living room and destroying a radiator.

Shards landed in two empty cots and covered the couch where her partner James often falls asleep.

Laura believes her family would not have survived if they had been in the room at the time.

The driver lost control of his car on the bend just past the nearby Millers Inn at about midnight.

Laura said: “Something needs to be done. Every day we hear cars braking outside because they have come too fast round the bend. It was an accident waiting to happen.”
