FOOLS on horses would shake in their saddles faced with the competition at the Ponies UK Winter Championships this week.
Thurlstone rider Lindsay Poole, 21, has qualified to compete in the Essex Arena where celebrities including Sally Gunnell and Ruby Wax battled it out on horseback in the BBC reality show Only Fools on Horses last summer.
The office worker, of New Smithy Avenue, will have her Section B Welsh pony Hilim Blackjack in hand when she competes in the Keston Royal Occasion Mountain and Moorland class at the championships in Braintree.
Lindsay, who won third place in the Mountain and Moorland In-hand class at the Penistone Show last year, said she is nervous but excited. “Showing is addictive and this is the biggest thing I've done so far - there’s even tiered seating at the arena!” she said.
