IMPROVED parking facilities, a skate park refurbishment and new play equipment are on their way to Royston.
The village is set to benefit from almost £94,000 of improvements thanks to Section 106 money secured by Barnsley Council from a local developer.
Around £10,000 will be put towards improving Royston Park's parking provision, while the recreation ground at Oakwood will receive £35,000 to improve pitch drainage and allow the installation of fencing at its play area.
Finally, £48,774 has been allocated for play equipment and the skate park refurbishment at Royston Park, which will ensure that key equipment and the existing skating facility will remain available for use by the local community.
Coun Roy Miller, cabinet spokesman, said: "The funding will improve three recreational areas in Royston, which I am sure will be most welcomed by residents and visitors alike."
