TOWN centre newsagent GT News is to close for good at the end of this month.
The shop on Market Hill employs six people. Five will move to Select Convenience near the interchange which is part of the same retail group, and manager David Hubble is taking voluntary redundancy.
"It's because we've come to the end of the lease," he said.
"One of the staff has been here 19 years. I've asked for redundancy and it's good that everyone else is keeping their jobs and moving to the other shop."
The shop will close on August 28.
