Barnsley's training session yesterday was filmed by an unmanned drone.

Barnsley-based firm Deadline Digital offered their services to the club and were invited to record three sessions, the second of which was yesterday. Head coach Lee Johnson said: "It might sound barmy but it's not really because it's a different perspective to view training from. I'm wearing a mic so I'm learning the good things and the bad things that I say and do as a coach.

"There was a good scenario that you might not have seen at pitch level. I had a go at Alfie Mawson for forcing a pass in training and I was completely wrong. When I watched it back on the drone, I had to phone Alfie. It was exactly the right ball, it was just poorly administered. That's good because I don't want him thinking: 'If that ball's on again I don't want to play it because of the gaffer.' Next time he does play that ball, we'll probably get a chance from it."

Deadline's Geoff Fox said: "It's great to be working with a forward-thinking manager who has been very quick to grasp what drones can offer tactically."
