PATRIOTIC Alwyn Mount has dyed a St George’s cross in his hair in aid of charity.

Alwyn, 53, is one of a group of campaigners trying to raise £10,000 to buy a cooling unit used on head injury patients for Barnsley Hospital.

The sponsored stunt boosted the coffers by £500.

Alwyn, of Redbrook Farm, said: “For the last fundraiser I had Mohican so with the World Cup coming up I thought I’d go for a St George’s cross.”

A barbecue will be held at the Yorkshire Lass at Gawber on July 29.
