TWO college students have been praised by the Royal British Legion for selling poppies in the town centre and tending to an unwell man who had collapsed.
Brendan Dudley, 16, of Southwell Street, Barnsley, gave up his jacket as a makeshift pillow for the man as they looked after him until an ambulance arrived.
Brendan carried on selling poppies in just his t-shirt with Jack Bishop, 17, of Norfolk Road, Great Houghton.
The British Legion’s Goff Griffiths commended their attitude, saying: “It’s time people realised we have got some wonderful young people in Barnsley.”
