THE show is back on the road next week when Dearne Playhouse reopens after a £1m refurb.
Dearne Showcase will be the opening production by the regular users of the theatre including South Yorkshire Musical Comedy Society and the Dearne Community and Miners’ Welfare Theatrical Section who had to cancel their panto in January.
“We’re thrilled, it’s even better than we expected and I can’t wait to open,” said Julie Medlam, theatre development manager.
New plush red seats, new loos and a completely refurbished bar with LCD screen add to the ambience, as well as a new sound and light room. There are two lifts for the disabled, one off the foyer and one backstage.
