A CATALOGUE of errors - including one linked to the death of a patient - have led to a well-known Barnsley doctor being struck off the medical register.

Dr Magdi Selim, who formerly practised in Brierley and Shafton, has been told his name will be erased because of his deficient professional performance and misconduct.

A number of allegations against him were found proved by a fitness to practise panel. He had already admitted several others.

An immediate order of suspension has been imposed to protect patients and maintain public confidence in the profession.

Dr Selim is now entitled to appeal the decision.

A report of the panel’s findings said Dr Selim wrote a letter to the parents of Patient L, now deceased, attempting to blame his GP partner for Patient L’s treatment.
