THE members of Barnsley Cancer Aftercare will have raised more than £4,000 following this year’s Christmas raffle.
The group was set up by Cynthia Megginson, 73, of High Ridge, Ward Green, and Lorrain Kelly, 70, of Sweyn Croft, Worsbrough Bridge, who both had breast cancer.
They have regular meetings and a drop-in, as well as organising a Christmas raffle every year.
This year’s raffle, was the most successful yet with some 35 people and as many prizes from bottles of wine to beauty vouchers being distributed.
The money from the raffle will be used to fund group activities such as trips to the seaside, therapist sessions and the annual hire of the Lamproom for the pantomime.
