A WOMBWELL mum is taking her two sons out of a new school because she says they are not secure - and says she will get herself locked up before they go back.
Julie Hart, of Yvonne Grove, is keeping Dale, eight, and Lewis, seven, away from the newly built King’s Oak Primary and wants them transfered to High View Primary instead.
She said: “Before Easter my youngest was attacked by a dog while playing at dinner time in the play ground.
“It knocked him to the ground and went at his face. I was not contacted and when I went to pick him up at home time he was in a state.
“He’s been a different lad since. It’s mentally affected him. He can’t be near a dog and can‘t even go to his Grandma’s now.”
Julie also says her eldest son Dale is being bullied and the school is not dealing with it. When she went in to complain about the dog incident, she says staff were busy drying Dale’s shoe which had been flushed down the toilet.
Mayor of Barnsley and chair of governors at King’s Oak, Coun Margaret Morgan, was unaware of the incidents until contacted by the Chronicle.
She said: “I am very sorry to hear about this but it is very unlike King’s Oak not to act on a problem. “It was not reported to me or the parent governor. All parents have booklets with pictures explaining who the governors are so there is no problem reporting things to us.
