A MILITARY-style band has decided to break away from the Royal British Legion so it can pick and choose the charities it supports.
The Yorkshire Military Band, formerly The Yorkshire Band of The Royal British Legion, has struck out on its own and severed its allegiance with the RBL, so it can raise money for a wider range of charities.
Director of music, Louise Lingard-Snape, said the 30 piece wind band formed almost five years ago, going from strength-to-strength, and continues to be one of the premier military-style bands in the country.
