He has 18 Guinness World Records, has worked with Wayne Rooney and has travelled the world showing off his craft. But now freestyle footballer Ash Randall has moved to Barnsley and wants to try to pass on some of his skills.

The 26-year-old, originally from Cardiff, has moved to Dodworth as his girlfriend is studying at Huddersfield University. His job takes him all over the world but his focus for now is on teaching a thing or two to kids in his new hometown.

"I've been in touch with a few schools already and will be going to show them some tricks," said Randall.

"The Barnsley College media students are also going to film me which is exciting. Barnsley's not quite Cardiff but I like it. I've got some mates up here too so the accent has not come as a shock. I built up something in Cardiff and I'd like to do the same while I'm here."

Football freestyling is the art of juggling the ball and performing various tricks. Since taking it up at 16, after being wowed by an advert showing Dutch star Edgar Davids juggling the ball while on the phone, Ash has gone on to post an incredible 18 world records and has taken his act to Kuwait, India, Greece and Egypt. His records are impressive and often outlandish.

He explains: "Freestyling just involves being creative with the football and doing all the tricks. I played football at school but as soon as I found freestyling on television it caught my attention.

"I recently set a new record with my mate and it will be shown on CBBC later this year. It's the record for hitting the crossbar the most times on the volley in a minute. We did it seven times in the end which we were happy with.

"I've also been juggling the ball with the soles of my feet while laid on the back of a car travelling ten miles per hour down an airport runway. It was between flights so was very interesting."

Randall spent last season working at Premier League Swansea City where he was in charge of their half-time entertainment. Often disguised, once as a steward and once as one of the subs, he would enter the pitch at the break and perform his elaborate tricks.

He said: "I enjoyed hearing people whispering to one another. They didn't always know what was going on."

Randall has also worked on television doing an advert with England captain Rooney for Sky One's 'Street Striker'. He appeared in front of an audience of five million people on Chinese television for a Guinness World Records special – in which he broke his own world record for headers while skipping. He has featured on Soccer AM and adverts for Disney, Blackberry and Pringles.
