James Bree has the potential to play in the Premier League, says Barnsley head coach Lee Johnson.
The 18-year-old right-back replaced the departed Reece Wabara in the team at Shrewsbury on Saturday and gave away a penalty.
Johnson said: "It was a tough game for James but he is genuinely ready. He has a couple of little things to work on but he will be a top, top player.
"In my opinion he will be a Championship/Premier League player if he can just keep going and get that belief that will come with playing more games."
