A GROUP of Barnsley children have organised their own fun run to raise money for a local charity.
Ashleigh Jackson and her friends will run in aid of animal rescue charity BARC.
“It was our new year’s resolution to do more charity work,” said Ashleigh, 12, a Barnsley Academy pupil, from Old Oaks View, Kendray.
“We thought BARC was a good charity to support, and it’s local, so we called them up and checked it was OK, and they’re really pleased.
“We’ve got about 20 people talking part of all ages, and so far we think we’ve raised more than £300.”
The 10k run is from Stairfoot to Locke Park and back.
