Barnsley will be hoping for a fifth successive home league win for the first time since the 1996/97 promotion season when they welcome struggling local rivals Doncaster Rovers tomorrow.
While the Reds have won their last four league matches at Oakwell, Donny's last three games have been at home and brought defeats to top ten sides Walsall, Port Vale and Sheffield United, who won 1-0 on Saturday.
The 17th-placed Rovers have not won any of their last six matches in all competitions while they also have not been victorious in the last six games at the Keepmoat Stadium since a 3-2 win over Crewe on December 12.
Asked if Barnsley were favourites, caretaker manager Paul Heckingbottom said 'possibly' then added: "But the league has been upside down all season in terms of teams beating other teams and teams losing games they should win.
"It's a nightmare league to bet on. Anyone doing their accumulators every week will be let down by League One, I'm sure. You just have to be the best team on the day to come away with the result. It's as simple as that.
"It might not be the best team in terms of possession and stats but you have to be the most effective and defend your box. Donny have been changing their shape and formation and how they play over the last few weeks so it's anyone's guess as to which way Darren (Ferguson) wants to go.
"But in the games we've seen their performances have been up and down. They've maybe lost a couple that they didn't deserve to. He's going to expect a lot more from his players after the Sheffield United game. That's what we've got to be ready for.
"I think derbies have changed over the last ten to 15 years. Certain tackles are outlawed now so, on the pitch, they are very similar to other games. You don't tend to get feisty games but hopefully we will have the tempo in the game to make it a good spectacle."
Ipswich's Cameron Stewart, who was on loan at Barnsley at the end of last season, is on loan at Doncaster and has four goals in eight starts and ten appearances from the bench.
Heckingbottom will have to make the first change to the team since he took over as caretaker because centre-back Kevin Long's loan from Burnley has expired. The Irishman is expected to be replaced in the heart of the Reds' defence by either Marc Roberts or Lewin Nyatanga, with the latter playing for the Reds' under 21s this week after injury.
