DOREEN Burrows must have really set her husband’s motor running - he flogged his beloved Ford Anglia car to pay for their wedding.
There were no regrets in David Burrows’s mind as the couple, of April Drive, Monk Bretton, mark their 50th wedding anniversary today.
Doreen, 70, met David, 72, on a blind date set up by his sister and brother-in-law Jenny and Roy Wing.
They had their first date at Beverley Arms, near Pontefract, and six months later David, a former gas board and glassworks employee, asked Doreen to marry him.
