PLANS to create another car park to support Aldi’s distribution centre in Goldthorpe have been submitted to Barnsley Council’s planners.
The new car park would have an additional 158 spaces and on a plot adjacent to the main access road on Commercial Road.
Aldi says it cannot expand its current car park due to access issues, landscaping and limited space and as a result have chosen this piece of land nearby.
Since opening in 2014 the distribution centre, which provided more than 400 jobs, has proven important to Aldi’s network and has resulted in them needing to expand.
