ONE of Barnsley’s best known market traders has died at the age of 92.
Fruitier and greengrocer Edwin Price died on Saturday in Highgrove Care Home, Stairfoot.
Edwin established his business, EB Price, at Barnsley Market in 1955.
He worked on the stall until retirement when his son Stephen took over the business.
Even after he retired Edwin would often pop down to the stall where he sat on a stool chatting to customers and friends.
A service will take place at Silkstone Church at 1.45pm on Thursday followed by cremation at Ardsley at 2.50pm.
Friends and family will gather for a reception at the Fairway in Dodworth from around 2.30pm.
