THE future of a historic Royston site is being considered after two public consultation events.
Monckton Coke Works, which closed in December 2014, was the subject of events at Royston Library and the Havercroft and Ryhill Community Learning Centre earlier this month and the site’s owners, Hargreaves, are mulling over the options.
The Chronicle revealed that up to 475 homes could be built on the site, but a spokesman from the Durham-based firm said this week that ‘all options’ will be considered before any planning application is submitted to Barnsley Council.
