A FORMER colliery site in Grimethorpe has been injected with new life after a scheme to plant 5,000 trees in the village kicked off this week.
The initiative, run by the Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership and the Forestry Commission, is hoping to boost wildlife and community usage on the 56-hectare New Park Springs site.
