DICKIE Bird is going head-to-head with his pals at Yorkshire County Cricket Club as Wembley fever takes hold.
The Barnsley umpire is a lifelong Reds’ fan and he’s letting everyone at the club know exactly where his loyalty lays ahead of the impending big domestic football final.
Barnsley FC and Oxford United will contest the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley on April 3 - and both teams have their share of support among staff at Headingley.
Yorkshire president Dickie and director of cricket Martyn Moxon head up the Barnsley-supporting contingent while, in the opposite corner, opening bowler Jack Brooks will be backing Oxford all the way in next month’s final.
