A COUNCILLOR has urged a re-think of flytipping punishments in the hope of deterring would-be offenders.

Coun Charlie Wraith labelled those responsible as ‘disgraces’ for blighting the area after local councillors carried out an estate inspection in Cudworth last Friday.

He said: “I appeal to residents to send me names and addresses or registration numbers so we can hopefully prosecute. Those who do this are disgraces to the human race - what they’re doing is evil.

“The cost to us all is enormous. We are all paying for these nasty individuals who spoil our villages, so let’s join together and identify them.

“A hefty sentence in a boot camp-style experience would be nice. Current punishments are abysmal and they are not a deterrent.

“Let’s identify and shame these idiots. We must not let them win and forever clean up their mess.

“We just cannot afford what it is costing us as a council so I’d urge anyone with any information to help us bring them to court.”
