A SPORTING volunteer who has dedicated 25 years to promoting athletics has been presented with an award from HRH Prince Michael of Kent.
Malcolm Fletcher volunteers as a championship secretary for Northern Athletics across all age groups and has officiated regularly at national championships and televised events for the last 15 years.
But he has remained loyal to grassroots athletics, officiating club open meetings and local leagues.
Malcolm’s high standards as technical officer combined with his understanding of the needs of athletes have proved invaluable and he is always willing to pass on his knowledge, as he has done as a mentor to a number of officials.
