MONACO here we come!

This daring group of Barnsley blokes have set themselves the challenge of travelling more than 2,000 miles in an old banger to raise money for charity.

Paul Bentley, 48, Samuel Bentley, 17, both of Daleswood Drive, Worsbrough, Matthew Thompson, 17, Mark Thompson, 46, both of Wainwright Avenue, Wombwell along with Andrew Sagar, 47, Wood Walk, Wombwell, will undertake the Monte Carlo or Bust challenge in a BMW 525 which has 240,000 miles on the clock and cost them £125.

Paul said: “We’ve never done anything like this before, it’s a first for us. It’s going to be brilliant. It’s a bit of a risk, if you break down in the mountains you’ve somehow got to find your way back down!

“Touch wood, it will be a great run, and it’s all about the charities.”
