A TEENAGER who suffers from epilepsy has been presented with Barnsley’s first potentially lifesaving ‘epilepsy passport’.
Katie Lee, 16, now carries the small purple folder with her at all times. It contains vital information about her condition, her emergency contact details, her medication, and information about the electronic implant - similar to a pacemaker - which is wired into her nervous system.
It also tells people what they can do to help her if she has a seizure.
It was presented to her by specialist epilepsy nurse Phil McNulty, who keen runner Katie also managed to recruit to join her in Saturday’s 5km Barnsley Park Run at Locke Park where Katie organised a fundraising event for Epilepsy Action.
