MORE than 50 taxi drivers paid tribute to a well known and popular driver by sporting pink bows and forming a guard of honour outside the crematorium as the funeral cortege passed.

Jayne Addy was a hackney carriage driver before she died on March 14.

She contracted pneumonia after slipping in the shower and breaking several ribs.

Her funeral was held on Friday at Barnsley Crematorium.

Her son Andrew, 29, of Wakefield Road, New Lodge, said: “She was only 50, it was unexpected.

“Pink was my mum’s favourite colour, her bedroom was pink, her briefcase was pink. We really weren’t expecting all those taxis. They had asked us if it would be ok, but we didn’t expect that many and just want to say a big thank you.”
