OVER the last four years, Proud of Barnsley has celebrated the great and the good of our town.

Heading towards the 5th annual awards ceremony, the Chronicle is once again giving you the chance to nominate the town’s unsung heroes.

Last year’s glitzy award ceremony saw Graham and Lesley Wilmot named carers of the year.

Their son Gareth was just 36 when he was diagnosed with fronto-temporal dementia with Pick’s Disease. He has 24-hour care and has lost the ability to speak and concentrate.

Graham and Lesley have done everything in their power to highlight the fact the disease can strike anyone at any time.
