YOU don’t have to travel to London to see great art - it’s right here in your doorstep in Barnsley.

That is the message from Cooper Gallery curator Jemma Conway as she prepares to unveil the newly transformed gallery to the public.

So if you want to see work by Turner, John Ruskin and Henry Moore they can be seen from June 11 for the first time in the extended gallery.

Jemma is passionate about the gallery and its collections and said: “There is so much here that people don’t know about and we really want them to come and have a look.”
