CAR crime in the Hoyland district during the first three months of the year has tripled compared to the number of offences reported during the same period in 2015, it has emerged.
Across the district there were a total of 67 incidents reported to police between January and March, compared to 22 for the same months last year.
The highest figure recorded was March, when 25 crimes were reported to South Yorkshire Police, compared to 20 in February and 22 in January.
In the previous year the monthly figures were eight, nine and five respectively.
