Georgie Botham confidently claimed the Yorkshire Belt with a unanimous win on his home show.
The 18-year-old West Melton southpaw put in an impressive display at the Albert Road Club last Friday to win the 52kg title against Connor Doyle from Gladiators in Huddersfield.
Micky's Athletic's Botham landed the cleaner blows throughout the senior contest and rocked his opponent on several occasions – notably in the first round with a right hand and in the last with several straight shots.
Head coach Mick Wale feels the youngster is progressing at a manageable pace and they can take their time with the next move.
He said: "Georgie has got the right attitude and this was another step forward from him.
"We won't get carried away with him just yet but it's a nice belt to have in the gym. He has still only had 13 bouts so there are a lot more out there with more experience but not many in our area at his weight.
"There are plenty of options for Georgie now and I will consider putting him in either the novices or the boys' clubs."
