Barnsley are interested in Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, head coach Paul Heckingbottom has confirmed.

Kent, 19, spent time on loan at Coventry City last season and impressed the Reds boss.

He is one player they are currently interested in.

Heckingbottom said: "He is a good player and he did well against us last season."

"He certainly fits into the bracket of player that we are after."

The club has taken two players on trial for pre-season but neither are expected to make the trip to Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday.

Right-back Elliot Kebbie, 21, formerly of Salford City and former Blackburn Rovers central defender Sam Lavelle, 19, will spend time with the under 21 squad.
