RADIO presenter and transgender icon Stephanie Hirst is set to receive an honorary doctorate for her contribution to public life.
The award-winning radio DJ, television presenter and broadcaster hails from Athersley North and started working in radio at a young age.
She is probably best-known for fronting ‘Hirsty’s Daily Dose’ on Capital FM for 11 years which earned her and fellow presenters the title of Commercial Radio Presenters of the year at the CRCA Awards and a nomination in the breakfast category of the 2005 Sony Awards.
