A MULTI award winning park has been targeted by vandals seemingly intent on destroying one of its many attractions.
A recently erected bird hide which has attracted twitter from all around the region to Elsecar Park has been hit by arsonists.
Janet Cartwright, who is treasurer of the Friends of Elsecar Park group, regularly pops down to the hide to check it is being used properly.
Occasionally she has found that litter has been left in the hide which overlooks the reservoir.
But when she visited earlier this month she was left horrified by what she found.
