The 20-year-old central midfielder has been brought in in time for tomorrow's match against Derby County.
D'Almeida and Barnsley agreed terms almost two weeks ago after the former Paris Saint Germain youngster impressed during a trial and in several pre-season friendlies.
Reds head coach Paul Heckingbottom told the club's website: "We've given him an opportunity to build a career here in England and now it's down to Sessi to work hard and break into the first team."
