HENRY Boot Construction is an award winning construction company that successfully delivers building, civil engineering, refurbishment and fit-out projects for a range of public and private sector clients in the health and social care, education, social housing, custodial, sports and leisure, commercial/retail, manufacturing and industrial markets.
With an enviable reputation for collaborative working and providing high quality construction work, on-time and within budget, Henry Boot has a skill-set evolved over 130 years.
Having been appointed the main contractor for Phase 1 of the Better Barnsley scheme, Henry Boot Construction is delighted to help create new opportunities for the people of Barnsley. Work is well underway, and the project will see a series of packages delivered over the next three years, including the refurbishment of the Metropolitan Centre, a new library and market square.
Henry Boot is aiming to leave a legacy of new employment and training opportunities in Barnsley, through innovative solutions such as the Skills Village and by employing Barnsley based sub-contractors where possible. Henry Boot has already engaged the local supply chain with meet the buyer events and have provided apprentice and work experience placements on site.
Henry Boot is keen to contribute to the community and has sponsored many local events, such as Barnsley by the Sea, which brings a taste of the seaside to adults and children.
The Henry Boot project team is always happy to get involved and was proud to participate in this year’s Barnsley Mayor’s Parade, driving an excavator and a dumper truck around the route, while team members dressed up as Ivor Goodsite and construction workers. The team also attended the Volunteer Day at Barnsley Main on August 5, to clear the overgrowth and pick up litter, to help restore the area to its former glory and so it can be used as a car park.
This year, Henry Boot Construction is delighted to be involved in the Proud of Barnsley 2016 awards, by sponsoring the Charity Fundraising Team Award.
Tony Shaw, operations director, said: “As a local contractor we are proud to be sponsoring the Charity Fundraising Team Award. Better Barnsley is a great scheme to be involved in and we are looking forward to working with the Barnsley Council team and building on the good work that we have done so far.”
