EVEREST hero Les Binns, who made headlines around the world when he saved the life of a stranger near the top of the world’s highest mountain, has set himself a new challenge.

Les was forced to abandon his bid to reach Everest’s summit in May when a life or death situation unfolded in front of him amid treacherous conditions. He was agonisingly close - just a few hundred metres from the top - but he does plan to go back and try again.

In the meantime though Les is throwing himself into a very different challenge - to run a 50-mile ‘ultra marathon’ while carrying 10kg on his back to raise money for The Soldiers’ Charity ABF.
