INCONSIDERATE drivers who obscure fellow motorists’ views have been urged to stop - before they cause a potentially fatal accident.
Barnsley Council, who enforced a traffic regulation order on Pontefract Road, from Montague Street to Crosby Street, painted double yellow lines on the stretch of road earlier in the summer to prevent motorists from parking on the road.
However, complaints have since been made by local residents, who claim people have failed to take notice of the double yellow lines and that the problem has not been alleviated despite the council’s intervention.
One resident, who did not wish to be named, said: “It’s gone on for far too long - you’d think double yellow lines would stop them from doing it but it’s equally as bad.”
