AN AVERAGE of more than ten fly-tipping incidents were reported to Barnsley Council every day in the last year, according to a report.
There were 3,798 incidents of fly-tipping during 2015/16 across the borough according to the report presented to Penistone Area Council - only about seven per cent of these were in the Penistone area.
Coun Jenny Platts, a member of the council’s ruling cabinet who deals with fly-tipping enforcement, said the problem was seriously blighting Barnsley’s countryside.
