THE NAME of Kate Rusby's new album was almost changed to 'Hell and High Water' because of the recent torrential rain.
She was in her Green Moor studio when floods closed a nearby electricity substation.
Folk singer Kate said: "We got really behind with the recording because of the flooding and we nearly changed the name when we lost power."
But the album has kept it's original name, 'Awkward Annie', a childhood name given to Kate by her family. It is also a new song about a girl who is being courted.
She said: "It has been lovely recording the album. For the first time I have been the producer which has been a top craic. It was great to get together with all my old friends again and get everyone round here.
"The album has got a bit of a new feel but it's still the music I love and that continues throughout. We've also got a string quartet on this album and that's been fun and a new venture."
