A WARNING has been issued after two cats were left fighting for their lives after they were shot in Royston.

Owner Angela Galvin, of Summer Lane, was left reeling when her pets Theo, nine, and 15-month-old Cookie were targeted during a 48-hour period on the weekend of October 22.

The cats spent more than a week receiving treatment and both had to undergo life-saving operations, but returned home earlier this week.

“Theo was shot at some point on the Saturday but we didn’t discover his wound until a day later,” Angela told the Chronicle. “He wasn’t eating at all so I inspected him and found he’d been shot in the stomach.

“It was horrifying so I rushed him to the vets and it was there that we found out he had sustained a perforated bowel.”
