ONE of Barnsley’s biggest town centre pubs, Walkabout, will close in the new year.
Confusion arose after Stonegate Pub Company announced last week it was the new owner of the Australian-themed bars, including the one in Barnsley.
But prior to the acquisition, the sale of the building had been negotiated with Bobby Sangha, a deal which Stonegate is legally bound to complete.
A spokesman for Stonegate has now clarified the situation.
