MAUREEN and David Hawkins have found that first love is really special.
As teenagers, they fell in love in Nottingham in the 1950s - but the relationship ran into trouble when her parents banned her from riding on his new motorbike.
The sweethearts drifted apart and did not see each other for 40 years. Now they have married in Barnsley, more than 50 years after their first date and after a courtship that spanned 12,000 miles.
David, 70, said:" It's true what they say - the first love is always special."
