TWO friends moved by the plight of a homeless man in Barnsley have made it their mission to help others like him by collecting food and clothing for those in need.
Hairdresser Jordan Corson and friend Stacey Cant, both 26, have taken it upon themselves to help the homeless after hearing about a man in the town centre who allegedly fell foul of the law for selling handmade roses.
Jordan, a senior stylist at Alter Ego salon on Eldon Street North, said: “We’re collecting food and clothing for people because of a friend posted something about one of the homeless guys who’s well known and makes handmade roses out of sticks and Play-Doh and that police have stopped him from selling them because he doesn’t have a selling licence.
“Me and Stacey were just fuming about it so we started collecting stuff at the salon to make up like lunch bags to take out and flasks of hot drinks.”
