THE landlord of a Stairfoot pub is in talks with the company which owns the building, amid concerns it could close.
A petition is circulating on the internet to try and save the Black Bull, on Grange Lane.
More than 370 people have signed the petition, which states: “Stop Enterprise from closing the Black Bull doors after more than 200 years as a local pub.”
Landlord Darren Webster said: “The petition has been successful in getting Enterprise Inns to sit around the table and look at keeping the Black Bull within their portfolio.”
A spokesman from Ei Publican Partnerships, formerly Enterprise Inns, which owns the building, said: “We are working closely with the publican at The Black Bull to discuss his current situation in greater detail. We hope to agree a mutually acceptable and positive solution for the future of the pub as soon as possible.”
