BARNSLEY Council has dismissed residents’ concerns about a road’s safety - despite five accidents in the last month.
Burton Road, which comes off Cudworth roundabout, has come under scrutiny in recent weeks due to a series of crashes which has affected residents on West Green Avenue, which runs alongside the main road.
Sarah Reynolds, who has had three vehicles - all of which were parked on her drive - written off following crashes on the main road, called for more to be done on the road at the area’s Community Engagement Meeting earlier this month to prevent collisions and protect West Green Avenue’s residents.
However, the Chronicle can reveal that the council, having carried out a site visit on Burton Road last week, found ‘no issues’ with the road’s infrastructure.
