A LOCAL man is to become the first person to attempt swimming the length of the Yorkshire and Humber coast.
Gary Marshall plans to swim the 100-plus miles in the sea alongside his home county coast on behalf of a mental health charity.
He is already training hard in swimming pools, lakes and the North Sea.
When he makes the mammoth attempt he will have to complete 20 miles a day in freezing cold sea water, buffeted by the weather- and strong tides.
